Belle Vue narrowly lost out to the Lakeside Hammers tonight, as they slipped to a 50-43 defeat against the powerful southeners.

After a run of tied heats, the Aces took a slim lead ahead of the visitors in heat 5. But the home side were feeling the absence of number one Matej Zagar and skipper Ales Dryml, as the powerful Hammers bounced back in heat 7 with a 5-1 and all but took control of the meeting from there.

Be Part of It

BELLE Vue are urging fans to be part of the club’s bright future following Manchester City Council giving their new stadium project the go-ahead.

Club bosses were back at the Town Hall this week to discuss the application for planning permission in the hope of work beginning this summer with the new stadium coming on stream in March next year.

Many fans joined the club’s Be Part Of It campaign when the project was announced in front of a packed audience at Gorton Monastery in August 2011.

NEWSFLASH - New Stadium go-ahead

MANCHESTER City Council today gave the go-ahead for the Belle Vue Sports Village which will include a custom-built new stadium for the Belle Vue Aces.

It will now go to the planning permission stage with the Rentruck Aces targeting an opening date of March 2014.

Delighted David Gordon, the club’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “This is a red letter day in the long history of the club. It marks the start of a new era and gives speedway in Manchester a massive future.”
