Aces line up 'must win' date
BELLE Vue are gearing up for a ‘must win’ Elite League match against Coventry when they resume action at home on Monday week, July 2nd. The Autogate Aces have been without a match at Kirkmanshulme Lane since landing their first win of the season against Wolverhampton on June 11th. But that victory, plus three away matches on the bounce in which they topped 40 points, have signalled an improvement following a team shuffle in which Poland’s Artur Mroczka is proving an outstanding signing. Team boss Jim Lynch wants his side to step up on their improvement by building a winning run at home and picking up what they can on their travels. He said: “We are getting back on track after all our problems with injuries and the weather. Mroczka has been awesome since he came here and he’s a rider the fans are going to love as the season goes on. “Craig Cook and Ales Dryml have been tremendous, too, while Renat Gafurov has shown what he can do. “Craig has made a good return to the side after riding for us last season. We know he’s good round Belle Vue but he hasn’t always done well away. Having said that, he was outstanding at Wolverhampton and I put him in the nominated last race. “Rory Schlein has been struggling to reproduce the sparkling form he showed last season but he’s just back from injury and we will support him 100 per cent while he gets going again. “He’s making good starts, which is half the battle, and he proved he’s not far off with his brilliant ride in the last race at Peterborough. That filled me with confidence that there is no long term problem. “I’m sure that riding against Coventry, his former club, will fire him up, especially as he will be racing against Chris Harris, one of his best mates. “We must follow up the win against Wolves by beating Coventry. I am determined to shake up the pairings to make them more effective so I will be experimenting to see which riders go best with each other.” Tuesday 19th June 2012 Tweet |
